Shangri-La Hotels and
Resorts has shuffled some of its General Managers in its properties
around the world.
Desmond Hatton is appointed General Manager of Shangri-La's Barr Al
Jissah Resort & Spa, Muscat, starting 1 July 2004. This is the group's
first property in Oman and is scheduled to open in summer 2005. A native of Ireland, Desmond
joined the group in 1994, as General Manager of Shangri-La's Fijian Resort in Fiji;
Traders Hotel in Yangon, Myanmar; Rasa Ria Resort in Sabah, Malaysia, and most
recently Mactan Island Resort in Cebu, the Philippines.
Timothy Wright, present General Manager of
the Shangri-La Hotel project in New Delhi, is moving to replace Desmond Hatton as General Manager at Shangri-La's
Mactan Island Resort in Cebu, starting 28 June 2004.
The current General Manager of Shangri-La Hotel, Penang, Gilbert Jung
will transfer to Shangri-La Hotel, New Delhi from 24 June 2004. This Shangri-La's first
hotel in India will open in January 2005, with 326 guest rooms.
To replace Gilbert Jung in Penang will be C.V. Healy, who has been holding
General Manager positions at the group's hotels in Taipei, Shanghai and
Qingdao. |
