Club Abacus launches in China

Travel News Asia 25 June 2004

Abacus International today welcomed its Chinese travel agents to its exclusive travel agents' group, Club Abacus.

Club Abacus China was officially launched today at the J.W Marriott Hotel in Shanghai, China. It is the 10th Club Abacus to be established in Asia-Pacific.

Club Abacus was set up in June1997 to acknowledge the contributions made by individual travel agents in Abacus-connected agencies across the region. This will be an avenue for travel agents to network and learn more about their industry and how best to work with Abacus to better meet their customers' travel requirements.

"Abacus has been in China since 1995 and as we expand further, we want to build closer ties with our travel agent subscribers. Club Abacus was created for that very reason - to recognise and reward travel consultants for their consistent productivity and support while providing both Abacus and our agents with a direct vehicle for communication," said Mr Li Dong Qi, General Manager, Abacus International, China Representative Office.

"With our local expertise, we will also be able to effectively run various programmes designed to meet the specific needs of our Chinese travel agents," said Mr Li.
