Dusit Marketing Conference unveils Key Points for Future Success

Travel News Asia 25 February 2004

The Dusit Hotels & Resorts Marketing Conference, held recently at The Dusit Thani Hotel, Bangkok proved a productive gathering for all those who attended.

Held annually, the marketing confab brings together general managers, top-level management in marketing and sales, and the overseas regional sales offices of all Dusit Thani and Royal Princess properties nationwide and overseas. They meet, exchange ideas, discuss past performances as well as future prospects of their individual hotels.

Mr. Chanin Donavanik, Executive Director of Dusit Group, outlined at the conference both Dusit's and Royal Princess's vision and mission in 2004. "We plan to develop newer and better guest room products in Dusit hotels, executive training facilities in Bangkok, and we're in the process of acquiring new hotels in the Fiji and Seychelles Islands, among other important new developments," Chanin revealed.

He also added that Dusit will reposition the recently-acquired second property in Chiang Mai to be an upmarket new hotel division, as well as invest in the upgrade of its reservation system and other advanced new technology, and also to expand the curriculum of the successful Dusit Thani College, among other major plans.

Mr. Khampi Suwanarat, Chief Operating Officer of Dusit Group, touched on the new advertising campaigns that were launched recently for Dusit Hotels and Resorts ("Dusit, the Thai way of life") and Royal Princess Hotels & Resorts ("Contemporary Thai Hotel Living Throughout Thailand").

"Our new Dusit and Royal Princess campaigns inform the public of Dusit's mission statement to be a truly Thai hotel, providing services that encompass all the senses - touch, sight, smell, taste, sound - that reflect the very Thai approach to guests staying in our hotels," Mr Khampi explained.

The Dusit campaign has also been launched in overseas properties in Jakarta and Balikpapan, Indonesia; Manila, Philippines; Yangon, Myanmar; and Dubai, UAE.
