SAS Flight Academy to Expand with New Training Center in Riga, Latvia

In 2005, SAS Flight Academy AB is to expand into the Baltic region with a new training center in Riga, Latvia. Initially, one B737-300/400/500 full flight simulator with additional high technology training equipment will be featured.

The region's key customer airBaltic, is part of the SAS Group. Bertolt Flick, President of airBaltic commented; "We highly welcome this decision, since it will give us a cost-effective, high standard of training in the vicinity of our home base."

Olof Brve, President of SAS Flight Academy concluded, "The Riga expansion fits well into our strategy of establishing training centers close to our customers. The Baltic region and Russia are expansive markets and very interesting for us."
