Travel News Asia 21 May 2004

China Southern Airlines has commenced operating a new service between Nanchang and Singapore.

Operating every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from Nanchang, China Southern Airlines will operate this service with a Boeing 757 aircraft which makes one stop in Guangzhou before continuing on to Singapore.

The new route is the ever first international air service for China’s Jiangxi Province. CZ353/354 departs from Nanchang at 16:20, arriving at Guangzhou at 17:40 and reaching Singapore at 23:05. The Singapore service departs every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 8:35a.m., arriving at Guangzhou at 12:30 and continuing on to Nanchang at 15:20.

Jiangxi Governor Mr. Huang Zhiquan said, “Singapore is one of the world’s crossroads. The launch of this Nanchang-Singapore service has not only tapped a brand new route towards Southeast Asia, but also built up a platform for Jiangxi to step forward into the world. The newly launched service will further enhance Jiangxi’s accessibility to the international business and leisure community as well as shortening the distance between Jiangxi and the International marketplace.”

He added that the launch of Nanchang - Singapore international service and the renaming of Changbei International Airport sets a historical breakthrough in Jiangxi’s aviation industry.

China Southern Airlines Vice-President Mr. Xu Jiebo said during a press interview that, “China Southern Airlines is honored to launch the first international service for Jiangxi Province. This not only meets the demands of Jiangxi in opening-up to the global community and expediting its economic development but is great opportunity for China Southern to serve the local economy and solidify its market share.”
