General Manager appointed at Le Meridien China Properties

Le Méridien Hotels and Resorts has appointed Mr. Didier Tourneboeuf as Regional General Manager for Le Royal Méridien Shanghai & Le Méridien She Shan in October 2004. Didier’s key focus is on strategic growth and pre-opening activities for both Le Méridien hotels in the People’s Republic of China.

Didier, a French national, began his hospitality career in 1978 at Le Méridien Khartoum, Sudan – Africa and spent 23 years working in a variety of senior level management positions for Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts in Africa, Indonesia, Middle East, Thailand, USA, Australia, Cambodia, Japan and New Caledonia. Out of the 23 years of hospitality experience, he worked 19 years in Asia opening 5 hotels.

In 1984, Didier joined another international Chain for 2 years as General Manager of a hotel in Jakarta. He returned to Le Méridien in 1997 to open Le Méridien Phuket Beach Resort, Thailand.

With more than 26 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Didier has a degree in Hotel Management and Tourism from Hotel School Strasbourg, France.
