ASTA's 75th World Travel Congress to be held in Montreal

Travel News Asia 2 October 2004

Montréal, a city internationally known for its hospitality, will welcome delegates next year to the American Society of Travel Agents’ (ASTA) 75th World Travel Congress to be held Nov. 6-11, 2005. This 75th anniversary edition will be the last international Congress before ASTA begins its annual International Invitation program.

To celebrate, ASTA is extending several special rate offers to its members - agents who pre-register in Hong Kong pay only $199, while those booking between Oct. 3, 2004, and May 31, 2005, qualify for the Early Bird rate of $249. (Agent rates go up to $299 on June 1, 2005.) Special rates are also being extended on booth sales.

Plus travel agents who book their accommodations though the ASTA Housing Bureau will be entered to win a 5-night hotel stay, courtesy of Tourisme Montréal.

ASTA said that it chose Montréal as the host city for its international appeal, close proximity to the United States and undeniable charm. Montréal Congress Chair Deb Mangas, CTC, sums it up best: “We could not have picked a better place to host such a monumental Congress. Montréal will surprise, endearing itself to the hearts of all attendees.”

ASTA’s World Travel Congress brings together travel agents and suppliers from across the world for a 5-day program of educational seminars and networking opportunities. Agents have the opportunity to meet with other agents and travel suppliers and exchange knowledge and practical business tips and in doing so enhance their professional relationships and strengthen their businesses.
