Executive appointments at Evason Resorts and Soneva Resorts

Six Senses Resorts & Spas has announced the following executive appointments at Evason Resorts and Soneva Resorts.

Evason Hua Hin Resort & Six Senses Spa

Christopher Oakes will assume the role of General Manager, replacing Geoffrey Bennun who will open the Sila Evason Hideaway in Samui.

Chris comes to Evason from myhotels, where he was Operations Director and General Manager of the first myhotel. He previously held the position of General Manager at Bath Spa Hotel and Francis Hotel in Bath, London’s Café Royal, and Mount Juliet House in Ireland. These followed roles as Managing Director of Adare Manor Co. Limerick, and operator of restaurants in the UK and Portugal.

After earning his Diploma in Hotel Management, Chris spent several years developing his career at hotels in South Africa and the UK.

Ana Mandara Resort & Six Senses Spa

Maria Anna Grueter will join Ana Mandara Resort in Nha Trang Vietnam as Resident Manager.

Maria will be responsible for the day-to-day management, directing the operations and general administration of the resort. She will have all heads of departments reporting directly to her.

Maria joins Ana Mandara from the Grand Hyatt in Amman Jordan. She had previously been responsible for Rooms Division in the opening of Hyatt International Hotels in Santiago, Buenos Aires, Paris, Guadalajara, La Manga, Guam, Guatemala, Sharm El Sheikh, Mendoza and Warsaw.

Soneva Gili Resort & Six Senses Spa

Marco Groten has joined Soneva Gili Resort in the Maldives as Executive Assistant Manager – MOD.

Marco will oversee and direct all aspects of the M. Friday and Guest Relations services, plus Reception, Reservations, Security, and other MOD areas. He will liaise with the Six Senses Spa, retail operations and oversee the quality performance of the resort’s water activities.

Marco joins Soneva Fushi from his previous role running Club Bamboo in Phuket and formerly Room Division Manager at Avila Beach Resort in Curacao, which he joined following his graduation from Hotel Management.
