Huvafen Fushi joins Small Luxury Hotels of the World

Travel News Asia 20 October 2004

Boasting the World’s first underwater spa, Huvafen Fushi is one of the latest properties to be included within the Small Luxury Hotels of the World global portfolio.

Located in the North Male Atoll of the Maldives, Huvafen Fushi is set within its own magical aqua lagoon. A naturalist's wonderland where the stunning environment - above and below the waterline - is an attraction in itself. Dedicated to delivering an experience beyond each guest's wildest dreams, the Resort recently opened two underwater spa treatment rooms, 8 metres under the Indian Ocean.

“We feel that our affiliation with Small Luxury Hotels will bring a great deal of brand recognition to Huvafen Fushi. With the Huvafen Fushi and SLH brands being synonymous with luxury, quality and style, we feel that it will be a powerful synergy joining the two. Huvafen Fushi surrounds itself with like minded travel partners who think outside of the circle and at the end of the day has it’s clients and guests as the number one priority and has the approach of ‘can do!’. We look forward to a fruitful association with SLH,” comments Jane Quinn, Public Relations Manager, Per Aquum Resorts & Spas.

Featuring an 800sqm Beach Pavilion, Huvafen Fushi offers guests some of the largest rooms in the Maldives. The Resort’s 43 ‘naturally modern’ bungalows combine contemporary design with traditional Maldivian style. Each of the bungalows has its own secluded oasis and freshwater pool, and each has been fitted out with every conceivable luxury, including oversize beds (a central focus of the rooms on the island), an Espresso machine, private bar, Frette linen, day beds, plasma screen and Bose surround sound system with DVD player.

Huvafen Fushi will be joining Coco Palm Resort & Spa, Soneva Fushi Resort & Spa, Soneva Gili Resort & Spa and Banyan Tree Maldives, taking the number of Small Luxury Hotel Members in the Region to five.
