Virgin Atlantic to showcase 'The World's Fastest Convertible' at Motor Show

Travel News Asia 19 May 2004

Virgin Atlantic will be showcasing 'The World's Fastest Convertible' - its Upper Class Suite - at this year's Motor Show Live at The NEC, Birmingham between 27 May and 6 June 2004. Virgin Atlantic will be the first ever airline to exhibit at the world famous Motor Show.

Virgin's Upper Class Suite provides the passenger with a luxury leather armchair to relax on which, at the touch of a button, flips over into a separate bed with a mattress to sleep on, so at 35,000ft Virgin claims it to be the fastest convertible in the air.

Angus Struthers, Direct Marketing Manager for Virgin Atlantic commented:

"We are delighted to be exhibiting the Upper Class Suite at the Motor Show. It may be slightly different to the other convertibles being showcased, but we are confident that visitors to the show would like to experience the same luxury and comfort in the air as they do on the road."

"And unlike other convertibles, with the Upper Class Suite you can travel flat out at 550 miles per hour!"

Virgin Atlantic's Upper Class Suite will be situated in Hall 8 at Stand number 220. Visitors to the stand will be able to relax in the Upper Class Suite and Virgin Atlantic cabin crew will be on hand to give guidance and information about the new product.

The Upper Class Suite, which is presently being rolled out across Virgin Atlantic's fleet, consists of a reclining leather seat for take off, a place to sit and have a meal opposite your partner, one of the biggest fully flat beds in business class with a proper mattress for sleeping on, a private onboard bar to drink at with friends and an inflight beauty treatment area. Also included in a Virgin Atlantic Upper Class ticket is four chauffeur driven journeys to and from the airport.
