Travel News Asia 17 August 2004

Air Deccan of Bangalore, India has chosen the Free2Fly™ concept offered by SAS Component and EADS Sogerma Services to support its fleet of Airbus A320s, which begin operations this month.

Free2Fly™ is a material supply programme under which SAS Component, with technical back-up from EADS Sogerma, will set up a branch store in Bangalore and offer Air Deccan access to its pool of rotables on an exchange basis.

Chief Operation Officer Theodore Dounias, Air Deccan, says: "We are very happy to have found a material supplier who is dedicated to excellence and cost efficiency. Also, we are happy with SAS Component's strong commitment to ensuring a smooth implementation of the agreement. We are intent on building a successful operation here, and for that purpose we need the best partners we can get."

Director, Sales & Marketing, Nicolai Hertz, SAS Component, says: "Air Deccan is a very exiting new customer for us, and I can hardly express the significance we at SAS Component attach to this agreement. Together with EADS Sogerma Services, we are investing heavily in building capability in the Asian market -- where so many carriers are opting for Airbus aircraft.”
