Dragonair brings the best in Shanghai dining to the skies

Travel News Asia 16 February 2004

Passengers travelling with Dragonair from Shanghai to Hong Kong will now be able to indulge in the best of Shanghai dining during their flights.

Dishes from Shanghai's renowned Xiao Nan Guo Chinese restaurant will be offered in all classes, while First and Business Class passengers will be offered a selection from Leonardo's, the Hilton Shanghai's award-winning Mediterranean restaurant.

"This is part of our continuing commitment to bring the best dishes from around our network to passengers, and to enhance the overall inflight service," said Ronnie Choi, General Manager, Customer Services.

"Similar promotions in the past have always been very well received by passengers, who enjoy the extra choice, and find it interesting to try special dishes from quality establishments."

Shanghai favourites from Xiao Nan Guo will include Braised Pork Meat Ball, Seafood Rice Cake in Soup and Braised Pork with Bean Curd Knots. Dishes from Leonardo's are inspired by the rich diversity of the cuisine of the Mediterranean, and include King Prawns wrapped in Parma Ham with Bell Pepper Coulis, Coffee-Flavoured Lamb Loin with Espresso Sauce, and Potato Herb Crust on Slow Baked Salmon with a Creamy Spinach Tomato Salsa.

"These dishes of Xiao Nan Guo will also be made available on flights from Beijing to Hong Kong in April this year," Mr. Choi said.

Meanwhile, on flights from Hong Kong to Shanghai, Beijing and Taipei, Dragonair will continue to offer a special selection of dishes from well-known Hong Kong restaurants, including Super Star Seafood Restaurant, the InterContinental Hong Kong's Yan Toh Heen Cantonese restaurant, and Sabatini Italian restaurant at The Royal Garden Hotel.
