Sunway opens first luxury collection of accommodation with 'The Villas'

Travel News Asia 15 March 2004

Sunway Hotels & Resorts recently opened The Villas at Sunway Lagoon Resort Hotel, the group's first luxury portfolio of accommodation. The 17 intricately designed Asian-inspired villas are located within the 800-acre landmark of Sunway Lagoon Resort, an integrated "Resort-in-the-City" development.

Owned by Sunway City Berhad, The Villas are managed by Allson International. They were designed by Sunway Design Sdn Bhd and fitted by TID Pte. Ltd., Singapore, and took one year to complete at an investment of RM25 million.

"There is demand for this range of accommodation, and we're pleased to provide our guests with a beautiful collection of Villas within a resort development that's already complete with comprehensive facilities and convenient access to everything this area has to offer," said Jean-Jacques Kiefer, Group General Manager, Sunway Lagoon Resort Hotel and Managing Director, Allson International Hotels & Resorts. "We're looking forward to welcome both foreign guests and members of the local community, and hope to see The Villas become the preferred choice for those looking for privacy and relaxation."

The Villas are driven by a philosophy of extending tailor-made personalised service - including a 24-hour butler service - for each villa. Each villa is perched on undulating slopes and commands a picturesque view of Sunway Lagoon Resort.

Fifteen out of the seventeen villas measure 102 square metres; each exquisitely boasting a spacious bedroom suite, a private outdoor terrace housing an alluring infinity edge plunge pool complemented by a lavish deck set, a sunset patio perfect for sipping a cocktail while watching the sun go down, and a modern bathroom presenting the choice of a relaxing bath in an oversized tub or a therapeutic water massage under a rain-fall shower.

These features are further enhanced by a host of state-of-the-art amenities like a 20-inch flat-screened Sharp LCD television offering satellite channels, a futuristic entertainment system comprising Nakamichi compact disc and Sharp DVD players, in addition to two international direct dial telephone lines, an independent key system and an in-room electronic safety deposit box.

The Villas also boasts two exclusive units, which are called Villa Embun and Villa Bayu respectively. Measuring at 172 square metres, Villa Embun sits on the highest vantage point and offers a panoramic view of the surrounding greenery that is laced by fountains and waterfalls. Villa Bayu, which measures 192 square metres is the grandest of them all, allowing guests a generous amount of space to unwind in and simply enjoy the experience of The Villas.

The Villas are available exclusively for adults, no children are permitted.
