Sofitel Central Hua Hin Resort installs new Laundry System

Travel News Asia 14 September 2004

The Sofitel Central Hua Hin Resort in Thailand has installed the latest technology in its laundry operations in an attempt to reduce harmful emissions into the environment and conserve energy.

The hotel has invested over 1.5 million baht (US$36,000) for its Ozone Laundry System project and recently received official Ozone Laundry System Certification from En Axis Ltd in conjunction with the Industrial Finance Corporation of Thailand.

General Manager Bernd Schneider said the project was part of the Sofitel Central Hua Hin Resort’s overall commitment to protect Thailand’s environment.

“It is important for hotels in Thailand to continue to look at new ways to reduce energy consumption and help the environment. Sofitel Central Hua Hin Resort is very proud to be the first hotel in Thailand to implement this revolutionary technology.”

The Ozone Laundry System is a fully integrated procedure that washes at a much lower water temperature (reducing fuel or gas by 85–95 %), while decreasing chemical residue in fabrics (by 50%), and minimizing water use.
