Holiday Inn Adelaide appoints new General Manager

The Holiday Inn Adelaide recently appointed Matthew Young as its new General Manager. Already positioned within the InterContinental Hotels Group, Young leaves the position of General Manager, Crowne Plaza Alice Springs, to take up the new appointment.

Young has more than 14 years experience within the hospitality industry and will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the hotel. Young joins the company as the property changes the Holiday Inn on Hindley name to Holiday Inn Adelaide.

Young comments, “Adelaide is a beautiful city with so much to offer, I am delighted to have been appointed to this position”.

Young began his hospitality career at the tender age of 15 progressing quickly from Room Service/Restaurant Supervisor through to Assistant Manager. He held a wide variety of positions across Australia before moving to New Zealand in 2000. In 2001 Young returned to Australia to further his career within the hospitality industry.

Holiday Inn Adelaide is located right in the heart of the CBD, the hotel is close to the Botanic Gardens, Festival Centre, Casino, shopping and entertainment venues and numerous restaurants and bars in the area.

The property features an outdoor swimming pool, sauna, gymnasium, bar and restaurant. Also on-site are conferencing and catering facilities for 3 – 300 people.
