Pansea to open Koh Samui Resort February 2004

Travel News Asia 13 January 2004

Boutique hotel group Pansea is set to open 'Pansea Samui' - an exciting new villa style resort located on the idyllic island of Koh Samui, southern Thailand - on February 1, 2004. The resort will feature fifty-five individual luxury cottages, fourteen private Villas, a holistic herbal Spa and gourmet French and Thai restaurants.

Pansea Samui, Pansea's fifth hotel property in Asia, reflects the exclusivity, harmony with the environment and marriage of heritage with luxury for which Pansea is acclaimed internationally. Located just 10 minutes from Koh Samui's international airport on Maenam beach and within easy reach of Chaweng and Lamai, Pansea Samui is an ideal choice for travellers looking to unwind and rejuvenate amid the peace and beauty of an unspoiled tropical paradise.

Set on a dramatic hillside overlooking the sea, the resort's fifty-five luxury cottages have been arranged "village style" around a large central pavilion that features two gourmet restaurants, a dramatic sunset bar and a large free-form swimming pool shaded by coconut palms and cashew nut trees.

Accommodations at the new resort include eleven 'Beachfront' cottages, thirty-four 'Sea View' cottages, four two-bedroom 'Family' cottages and six exceedingly private 'Garden Spa' cottages designed especially for those who want the ultimate in personal pampering. With more than 400 square metres of indoor / outdoor living space, Pansea Samui's sensuous Garden Spa cottages present an entirely new standard of luxury including private massage salas, cave sauna showers, personal spa therapists and special spa treatment menus tailor made for each individual guest.

Life at Pansea Samui is all about rest and relaxation. So, for the pleasure of its guests, the resort has created a unique cavern-like spa offering traditional Thai therapies as well as a wide selection of contemporary holistic treatments exclusively created by leading spa consultants, Ytsara. For those whose idea of relaxation is somewhat more active, 'Pansea Samui' offers a full compliment of water sports and diving activities as well as two full size tennis courts. In addition, the resort is just minutes away from Koh Samui's first and only golf course, The Santiburi Samui Golf & Country Club.

Nestled in the lush tropical landscape and immediately adjacent to the resort are 'The Villas at Pansea Samui', a stunning collection of two and three bedroom private luxury homes currently available for purchase. Built in the traditional Samui style of pure white walls and peaked terra cotta tile roofs, these exquisite island homes feature separate living and dining salas, large private swimming pools and spectacular ocean views throughout. Managed by the same owner/developers responsible for Pansea Samui, The Villas at Pansea Samui exist in complete harmony with the adjoining resort and spa - the facilities and services of which are freely accessible to all Villa owners.

Both 'The Villas at Pansea Samui' and 'Pansea Samui' itself have been designed by award winning Thai and French architects, Habita of Thailand and Amedeo & Associes of France, with detailing by local craftsmen.

Pansea's other properties in Asia include Pansea Angkor in Cambodia, Pansea Luang Prabang in Laos, Pansea Yangon in Myanmar and Pansea Puri Bali in Indonesia.
