The Regent Esplanade Zagreb celebrates Grand Opening

Travel News Asia 13 December 2004

The Regent Esplanade Zagreb recently celebrated its Grand Opening. Dating back to 1925, the hotel is one of the most famous and gracious buildings in the capital of Croatia and was constructed for the travellers of The Orient Express. After extensive renovation, the hotel has reopened as The Regent Esplanade Zagreb.

Mr. Kurt Ritter, president and CEO of Rezidor SAS Hospitality comments, “I am absolutely thrilled to have this flagship property in our portfolio. The Esplanade Hotel in Zagreb used to be the epitome of style and elegance in the city. Through the Regent brand, we fully intend to uphold all of these traditions and values but in a way that is relevant now to a modern and forward-thinking city like Zagreb.”

The Regent Esplanade Hotel is a magnificent landmark building that offers all modern comforts, while retaining the charm of its original Art Nouveau. The hotel has 207 individually designed guest rooms, a grand restaurant in a modern style, a classic contemporary cocktail bar and an elegant French bistro, complete with glazed conservatory and outdoor terrace extending on to one of Zagreb’s elegant piazzas. While relaxing in luxury, guests can enjoy the fine cuisine and selected local and international wines.

The spa and beauty treatments are available at the exclusive Health Club. The hotel is equipped with modern technology and services, including a complementary high-speed wireless Internet connection. A grand ballroom, well-equipped conference rooms, business facilities and parking, complete the hotel’s impressive list of facilities.

The hotel is situated in the city centre, a five-minute walk from the main business and shopping area. International rail links are within easy access and Zagreb Airport is only sixteen kilometers (10 mi.) from the hotel.
