Pegasus Solutions providing electronic distribution services to new Hard Rock Hotels in US

Travel News Asia 11 May 2004

Pegasus Solutions is providing electronic distribution and reservation services for the newest Hard Rock-branded casino and hotel properties via the company’s Unirez by Pegasus representation offering. The implementation of these services highlights the integration of Unirez’s e-distribution and channel management solution into the services Pegasus offers to independent hotels and small groups. Pegasus acquired Unirez in December 2003.

The Seminole Tribe of Florida owns and operates the new properties. Both hotels are 4-star/4-diamond rated, with rock-and-roll memorabilia placed throughout the hotels and casinos. The $100 million Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa, which opened on March 12, includes 250 guest rooms on 12 stories and a 90,000 square-foot casino. The $300 million Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, opening today, has 500 guest rooms and 63 suites, along with a 130,000 square-foot casino.

Pegasus has completed implementation of the properties on the Unirez by Pegasus offering, giving on-site hotel staff easy-to-use, integrated tools through which they can manage multiple revenue channels, determine rate strategies and market unique promotions. The Unirez offering provides for real-time rates that are automatically distributed to the four major global distribution systems (Amadeus, Galileo, Sabre and Worldspan) and thousands of travel Web sites, giving travel agents and consumers immediate access to Seminole Hard Rock availability.

Travel agents can book rooms today at both properties by using the UZ code on any major GDS.

“The ability to seamlessly update GDSs and a multitude of travel Web sites with just one set of keystroke entries is critical for our management team,” said Andrew Rosuck, vice president of sales for the Seminole Hard Rock hotels and casinos. “With Pegasus delivering proven electronic distribution services, we can focus on other initiatives that raise awareness with both travel agents and travelers.”

Bob Boles, executive vice president of sales and marketing for Pegasus Solutions, said: “We’re pleased to add the Seminole Hard Rock Hotels to our growing portfolio of Unirez by Pegasus member hotels. Our successful integration of Unirez gives us the flexibility to provide hotels with a full menu of representation services, ranging from the Unirez by Pegasus integrated e-distribution offering to our full-service Utell by Pegasus offering. Utell member hotels receive consulting, e-distribution, high-touch training and marketing services, as well as bookings driven from our preferred relationships with prominent travel agencies and corporations around the world.”
