New leisure Spa Concept to be unveiled at Theme Parks & Fun Centres Trade Show in Dubai

Travel News Asia 11 March 2004

A new leisure spa concept – Action Spa – is to be unveiled in the Middle East at the Theme Parks & Fun Centres trade show being held in Dubai next month.

The Action Spa, which is already in operation in Spain, is to be introduced to the show by Action Park Multiforma Group – the company which took the World Waterparks Association’s 2003 Industry Leadership Award.

Action Park recently won a contract to supply Jordan’s Amman Waves Waterpark – the first of project of its kind in the country.

“At TPFC we will also announce the opening of Amman Waves Waterpark and will be inviting industry specialists to visit it and see the project for themselves,” said Paco Caudet, Marketing Manager, Action Park Multiforma.

“We believe in the growth of intra-regional tourism throughout the world, but most particularly the Middle East. The trend will be towards smaller developments aimed at local populations, forcing projects to adapt to local habits and sensibilities.”

TPFC 2004, which is organised by International Expo Consults (IEC), will run at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre from April 27-29. The show, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary, has, to date, contracted exhibitors from 18 countries.

“This year’s show is set to prove more innovative than ever as the announcement of mega projects throughout the region, and particularly Dubai, has hit worldwide headlines and sparked greater interest in the Middle East’s rapidly developing leisure sector,” said Abdul Rahman Falaknaz, President, IEC.

TPFC also has the support of the American Amusement Machine  Association (AAMA), International Association of Amusement Parks & Attractions (IAAPA) and the World Waterparks Association (WWA).
