Century Roxy Park Hotel in Singapore to be rebranded Grand Mercure

Travel News Asia 10 March 2004

Century Roxy Park Hotel Singapore is to become Accor’s first Grand Mercure in Asia, the highest status awarded Mercure hotels, when it is rebranded Grand Mercure Roxy Hotel Singapore on 1 April.

Accor Managing Director Asia Pacific, Michael Issenberg, said the benefits of Mercure branding would give the hotel immediate recognition in the global market.

“The Mercure brand is Accor’s largest global brand and one of the fastest growing, adding 64 new hotels in 2003, with this impressive growth set to continue this year around Asia Pacific.

“We strongly believe in Singapore’s future potential, both to corporate and leisure travellers, and the Grand Mercure Roxy Hotel Singapore will be an excellent complement to our other hotel in the Lion City.”

The 482-room Grand Mercure Roxy Hotel Singapore, which includes 83 suites for long staying guests, has undergone a significant transformation to bring it up to the highest Mercure brand standards. Broadband Internet access is now available in all deluxe rooms, Royal Club rooms and suites while an imported down duvet and bolster provide guest with extra pampering and comfort in the recently upgraded deluxe rooms.

The hotel is adding an exclusive fine dining outlet, replacing the existing Thai restaurant, in line with Mercure’s focus on offering guests an exceptional food and beverage experience. An extensive wine list and nightly jazz music will complement the refined cuisine and outstanding service.

There are also nine meeting and function rooms, a business centre, Royal Club floors with an exclusive Executive Lounge, all-day dining at Feast@East, the eclectic Beads Restaurant and Lounge, a poolside bar, self-service launderette, a children’s playroom, outdoor swimming pool and fitness centre.

The business centre has been relocated conveniently off the lobby, close to a newly renovated Concierge desk with a Les Clefs d’Or Singapore member leading the bell services team. The hotel also boasts a spa with extensive beauty and body treatments.

A complimentary shuttle service between Changi International Airport and the hotel is a value added service offered to guests, leaving every thirty minutes from 7 am to 12 midnight with meet and greet service at both terminals of the airport available upon request.

The hotel is located just 10 minutes from Changi International Airport, Suntec City, Singapore Expo and Orchard Road. It is also conveniently situated just opposite Parkway Parade Shopping Centre and within walking distance to East Coast Recreation Park and Beach.
