Singapore Airlines offers some of the roomiest business class seats in the sky with the SpaceBed

Travel News Asia 9 June 2003

Singapore Airlines' (SIA) passengers can now enjoy some of  the roomiest business class seats in the sky when they fly on the Airline's Boeing 777-ER (extended range) aircraft.

The Airline recently completed the installation of the Raffles (business) lie-flat seat, the SpaceBed, on all of its B777-ER fleet.

At an extended length of 78 inches and seat width of 27 inches, the SpaceBed is designed to provide more space and comfort for business travellers. In addition, the SpaceBed's unique cushioning system conforms more effectively to the body's contours, allowing passengers to rest even more comfortably in their preferred sleeping positions.

Each SpaceBed also comes equipped with Wisemen 3000, SIA's new-generation inflight entertainment system with audio-visual on demand capabilities and more than 200 entertainment options. Passengers can choose from a selection of 29 movies, 30 hours of short features (or more than 50 TV programmes), over 50 music CD albums, and more than 30 Nintendo Games.

Installed at a cost of US$100 million, the SpaceBed was designed to provide more space and comfort for our business travellers. There are currently 14 Jubilee B777-ER aircraft in SIA's fleet.

The SpaceBed is also available on the Airline's Megatop B747-400 aircraft.
