Shangri-La forms Alliance with Hainan Airlines

Travel News Asia 8 October 2003

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has signed an agreement with Hainan Airlines. This latest partnership programme strengthens the links between Shangri-La and Fortune Wings Club, Hainan Airlines' frequent flyer programme, and promotes further network integration with Chinese carriers. As with Air China, China Southern Airlines and China Eastern Airlines, Hainan Airlines has chosen Shangri-La as its first international hotel partner.

The cooperation agreement offers Fortune Wings Club members many privileges. Members staying in any of the 41 Shangri-La hotels in Asia and the Middle East and paying corporate rates or above will receive 800 Hainan Airlines kilometres. For those who are members of both the Fortune Wings Club and Shangri-La's Golden Circle, there is an extra bonus of 200 kilometres for Executive level members or 400 kilometres for Elite level members per stay at any Shangri-La hotel or resort.

To celebrate this alliance, Shangri-La is offering double kilometres per stay for all Fortune Wings Club members when they check into any of the group's properties at corporate rates or above before 30 November 2003. Members staying in any Shangri-La hotel in China under the China Executive Plan will also receive double kilometres.

Hainan Airlines boasts an extensive network that covers many cities where Shangri-La operates, including Beijing, Dalian, Shenyang, Harbin, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Qingdao, Shanghai, Wuhan, Xian, Beihai and Shenzhen.
