MacroVision Network welcomes new Executive Director and establishes a Joint Venture with HSA International

MacroVision Network Pte Ltd, a travel & hospitality marketing, consulting and training company is celebrating its second year in operation with the addition of a new executive director to the company and the launch of an exciting partnership with HSA International, a US-based hospitality training, mystery  call services, e-learning, consulting and representation organization.

Christine Toguchi, founder and managing director of MacroVision Network, welcomes on board Patrick Lau as Executive Director of MacroVision Network. Toguchi remarked, "Finding the right partners is critical to successfully expand our business. More than just someone to help share the work load, I was looking for a trusted colleague with whom we could share an exciting vision." Pat brings with him an illustrious career spanning 21 years of experience in information technology and 7 years in tourism.

Patrick played an active role in the computerization of the Civil Service under the Intelligent Island Vision during a 13-year stint with the National Computer Board and was the Chief Information Officer of the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) for seven years. He spearheaded several important initiatives for STB and the industry such as the concept development of the Industry Travel  Portal, the adoption of the smart card, wireless and Internet technologies.

Patrick held several key positions as the Director of Planning, Director of Lifestyle and Area Director of Marketing (ASEAN and South Asia) during his career with STB. In these capacities, he formulated corporate strategies for STB as key initiatives for the Tourism 21 master plan, created lifestyle industry  business and marketing plans, developed local enterprises in the lifestyle business and implemented tactical marketing campaigns and programs for visitors from ASEAN, South Asia, Middle East and Africa.

MacroVision Network has also formalized a joint venture with HSA International, a global hospitality training company based in Florida, USA in January 2003. Lau and Toguchi are the Executive Director and Managing Director of HSA International for the Asia Pacific region respectively.

Patrick Lau commented on being a part of MacroVision Network and HSA International. "I have always been an entrepreneur at heart and this unique business venture affords me an exciting opportunity that I could not miss. I intend to use my vast industry experience in IT and tourism to grow the MacroVision Network and HSA International hospitality training and consulting businesses in the Asia Pacific region well into the 21st century,".

MacroVision Network and HSA International will jointly promote training products and services within the hospitality industry under the HSA International brand. HSA International will support MacroVision Network in several ways: training and coaching, thus optimizing MacroVision Network's competency in representing and delivering products and services specific to HSA; design and development of e-learning initiatives; multi-channel  marketing and distribution.

All ready fast at work to introduce it's hospitality training services to the region, a series of 'Reservations Sales Enhancement Training' sessions have already been planned and these will take place in Bangkok, Hong Kong, Kuala  Lumpur, Shanghai, Singapore in the first half of 2003. Hospitality E-Marketing and Revenue Management workshops are also to be released early this year.
