Travel News Asia 7 January 2003

Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE) has announced that Singapore Airlines has become an official sponsor of AIME 2003, the 11th AsiaPacific Incentives and Meetings Expo.

“We are delighted to have Singapore Airlines as a sponsor of AIME 2003. Singapore Airlines’ sponsorship will greatly assist our exhibitors, Hosted Buyers and visitors traveling to AIME in February,” said Maree Gadd, AIME’s Manager – Hosted Programs.

Singapore Airlines will provide airfares for Hosted Buyers, and discounted airfares for exhibitors and visitors to AIME 2003.

“AIME 2003 will include more than 600 exhibitors from approximately 50 destinations. In addition, our visitors and Hosted Buyers come from more than 20 countries. Singapore Airlines’ route network reaches out to 93 destinations in 38 countries, plus it is known for its trend setting ideas and its excellent inflight service. It’s a great match for AIME,” Ms Gadd said.

Rashid Mordiffi, Market Development Manager, Marketing Communication & Development Department, Singapore Airlines, Singapore, said that building strong relationships with its customers and its business partners was important to the airline.

“We are pleased to support AIME 2003, a major event for the meetings, incentives, convention and exhibition industries,” Mr Mordiffi said.

“Singapore Airlines recognizes the importance of building strong relationships, particularly with events such as AIME that showcase the Asia Pacific region. We are sure AIME Hosted Buyers, visitors and exhibitors will enjoy flying with Singapore Airlines,” Mr Mordiffi said.

Over the last two decades, Singapore Airlines has grown from a regional airline into one of the world's leading passenger and cargo carriers. Today, it has a modern and young fleet of aircraft. Its home base, Changi Airport, is regularly voted the world's best, and serves as Singapore’s gateway to Asia and beyond.

Singapore Airlines is part of the Star Alliance network, which offers customers improved services and benefits, including “seamless” air travel worldwide.

AIME 2003 will be held on 18 & 19 February at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre, Australia.
