Panwa Beach Resort in Phuket reopens with new look

Travel News Asia 7 October 2003

The Panwa Beach Resort in Phuket recently re-opened with a fresh new look and expanded leisure facilities after an extensive four-month renovation.

Located on picturesque Chalong Bay yet only 10 minutes from Phuket Town, this boutique hotel has enhanced its architectural design with Thai culture influences, lush landscaping and new furnishings.

The resort now offers guests a new lounge and pub, The Shaker’s Club, remodelled reception and front office area, Jacuzzi overlooking the hotel’s private beach and a Kid’s Club and play area.

Behind the scenes, a completely new kitchen has been added to enhance the food and beverage offer, while Aroma Restaurant has been given an exciting new look.

Panwa Beach Resort General Manager, François Dupuis, said the overall design concept utilises local southern Thai architecture and interior design that is inspired by the region’s organic relationship with nature.

“Public areas have been enlarged to enhance the feeling of space while preserving stunning views of the Andaman Sea. The new look features tasteful furnishings and artwork while emphasising Phuket’s unique tropical landscape with ponds and local plants that are used throughout to soften and freshen the overall environment.

“Panwa Beach Resort is a haven for families, especially with the new Kids Club, or for honeymooners looking for a romantic hideaway.”

The Shaker’s Club also is open onto the sea and makes extensive use of modern Thai design with black walnut bar stools, chairs and tables.

A Jacuzzi has been added near the fitness centre and the existing pool area that also has a new look as well. The Jacuzzi is shaped like a southern-style boat, offering guests plenty of room to relax and soak up the tropical experience.
