Philippine Airlines offers birthday and seniors promo fares

Travel News Asia 5 September 2003

Philippine Airlines is offering special short-term promotional fares on selected domestic routes to two key segments of the travel market - senior citizens and birthday celebrants.

Upon presentation of their government-issued ID card, senior citizens enjoy an automatic 40% off the published economy or business-class fare for travel during the period September 1 to October 15, 2003.

Similarly, passengers traveling on their birthday receive a 40% discount off normal economy or business-class fare for the period September 1 to November 30, 2003.

Those availing of the special rate should present acceptable documentation showing their date of birth, such as their passport.

Both promotions are applicable for travel between Manila and Cebu, Bacolod, Iloilo, Kalibo, Roxas, Tacloban, Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Butuan, Zamboanga and Puerto Princesa.

Meanwhile, PAL is also offering incentives to all other passengers who don't qualify for the promotional fares.

Those availing of normal economy, business class and Special Saver fares receive an additional 10 kilograms free baggage allowance for travel between Manila and any PAL domestic point.

This is on top of the allowable 20 kilos for economy and 30 kilos for business-class passengers on PAL domestic flights. The incentive is good up to December 15, 2003.
