Virgin Atlantic offers incentive to stranded BA passengers

Search ASIA Travel Tips .com 5 August 2003

Virgin Atlantic today announced it would be offering all £80 voucher-holding British Airways' passengers who were affected by the recent strike action a £100 discount if they book flights with Virgin Atlantic. The £80 voucher issued by BA will be accepted by Virgin Atlantic and an additional £20 discount will be offered.

Sir Richard Branson, chairman of Virgin Atlantic, commented:

"For many British Airways passengers stranded by the recent industrial action BA's 'goodwill' offer of £80 to fly with them again will come as 'cold comfort'. For those passengers who are thinking twice about flying with BA again Virgin Atlantic will accept BA's £80 voucher and will also add a further discount of £20 as an extra incentive.

"The £100 discount will apply to each passenger holding an £80 voucher as a result of the strike chaos and will be available on all Virgin's 22 long haul routes worldwide and in all classes.

"We have already seen thousands of BA's passengers book with Virgin and we expect this offer will encourage passengers to switch over to Virgin in their droves."

The offer is available to passengers already holding a valid BA voucher and only through Virgin Atlantic's contact centre in the UK on (44) 01293 747747.
