In keeping with its tradition of unstinting commitment to customer service and
convenience, The Oberoi Group today launched its 'Toll Free Numbers' for
guests across the country. The toll free numbers are accessible to callers
across 92 cities in India and a call made to any of these numbers is a no-charge call. In addition to this facility, The Group has also introduced
wireless connectivity at its business hotels across the five metro cities of New
Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Bangalore.
The toll free numbers are 1-600-11-2030 for Oberoi Hotels and 1-600-11-2122
for The Trident Hotels. Guests can make a call to any of these numbers to
obtain instant information on room availability, reservation, special packages,
etc.
In addition to the toll free facility, The Group, in partnership with FCS
Computer Systems - Malaysia, has introduced wireless, broadband internet
access in its business hotels in New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore and
The Trident Hotel in Chennai. FCS Computer Systems, founded in 1982, is a
leading computer telephony integration (CTI) vendor in Asia Pacific.
Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Indrani Ghose, Director, Corporate IT, The
Oberoi Group, said, "In keeping with The Oberoi Group's continuous endeavor
for excellence in service standards, we are pleased to offer these services to
our national and international travelers. Business travelers can now avail the
comfort and convenience of high-speed connectivity anywhere at all our business hotels. This facility is very popular with business travelers on the
move across Europe and in the US and we are happy that guests can now avail this facility at six of our properties in India too."
Mr. Ravish Swarup, Director Oberoi Contact Centre, said, "We are constantly
looking for ways to better assist our guests and the travel professionals. The
new and convenient toll free numbers, accessible across India, for both
Oberoi and Trident hotels will facilitate this communication need."
The wireless system enables guests to enjoy a secure plug and play access to
e-mail and files residing on their office network or Intranet from the comfort of
their room or any of the public areas within the hotel. The technology works
on any of the operating systems existing on the guest's notebook computer
and has an added advantage of neither requiring any reconfiguration of the
computer nor installation of any additional program. All that the guest requires
is a PCMCIA Wireless LAN card which can be obtained on request from the
hotel's butler service.
