GITEX Technical Seminars to make a comeback

Travel News Asia 5 October 2003

The Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) has announced that due to popular demand from trade visitors, GITEX Technical Seminars will be reintroduced during this year's event scheduled to take place from 19th to 23rd October.

"A comprehensive program of professionally managed technical presentations and seminars is being put together by our exhibitions team to add value to both exhibitors and visitors participating at this year's event," said Abdulla T. Qassem, DWTC General Manager Exhibitions, Leasing and Property.

He noted that by scheduling the seminars in greater detail, it would be possible to increase awareness and attendance amongst visitors to GITEX 2003.

"We are dedicated to meeting, and exceeding, our visitor's specifications and expectations and are focused on enhancing GITEX's profile by providing delegates with continuing education on emerging technology and have initiated contact with exhibitors who would like to conduct presentations," Mr. Qassem added.

The seminars will take place on all five-days of the show and two rooms above halls five and six have been reserved all through the five days to stage presentations and seminars. Both the rooms hold a maximum of 50 delegates and are fully equipped with an LCD projector, slide projector and overhead projector and are being setup with theatre-style seating and a head table.

GITEX 2003 will feature all facets of the Information Technology industry. With more than 35,000 square metres of gross exhibition space already sold in eight interconnected halls the event is set to be the biggest ever.

Leading IT companies have indicated strong enthusiasm in GITEX Dubai 2003 with industry leaders like IBM, Microsoft, Cisco, Oracle, HP, Samsung, Toshiba, Canon, NEC, Acer, LG Electronics, Panasonic, Sony, Fujitsu, Sanyo, Etisalat, DAFZA, Thuraya and Epson among others securing a strong presence at the show.

GITEX this year will showcase an entire range of IT related products and services with a significant focus on e-business and e-commerce solutions. Other products include uninterrupted power supply solutions, desktop publishing, digital imaging & information management Internet products, mobile computing & WAP technology, networking & business communication, office automation, computer hardware and many others.

While the main exhibition is focused largely on trade professionals, consumers looking to purchase computer equipment and electronic gadgetry can do so at the GITEX Computer Shopper, that takes place at Airport Expo Dubai between 18th and 24th of October 2003. GITEX Computer Shopper, the retail component of GITEX, targets those seeking to purchase equipment for their personal use.
