Hertz Australia adds new X-Type Jaguar to Prestige Collection

Travel News Asia 4 September 2003

Hertz, one of the world's leading car rental companies, has again expanded its Prestige Collection in Australia by securing exclusive rights to rent the Jaguar X-TYPE.

The 2.5 litre V6 model is the first Jaguar in Hertz Australia's rental fleet, and adds a new dimension to the Prestige Collection.

The Hertz X-TYPE Jaguar features quality leather seating and leather-covered steering wheel, wood veneer finish, reverse parking sensors, speed-sensitive power steering, front and rear airbags, and a satellite navigation system.

"The vehicle rental market is maturing in Australia, with a growing demand for prestige cars in both the corporate and luxury leisure segments," said Hertz Australia Region Vice President and Managing Director Mr. James Bowyer.

"The Jaguar has long been regarded as an international symbol of luxury motoring, and we are delighted to introduce the X-TYPE Jag to our Prestige Collection," he said.

"By providing yet another luxury option for our customers, the X-TYPE enhances what is already Australia's broadest prestige auto rental fleet.

"And for those who have always aspired to own a Jaguar, it is now possible to do so for a day - or more - by renting the X-TYPE from Hertz."

Initially, Hertz X-TYPE Jaguars will be located in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Cairns, and can be made available on request in Canberra and on the Gold Coast.

The X-TYPE, priced from A$151.80 a day, will join current-model BMW 3 and 5 series sedans, BMW Z4 and Volvo C70 convertibles, and Ford Fairlane Ghia in the Hertz Prestige Collection.

Hertz operates from approximately 7000 locations in more than 150 countries, and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Ford Motor Company.
