DTCM publicity material to be revamped

Travel News Asia 3 July 2003

The Dubai Department and Tourism and Commerce Marketing's (DTCM) Director General, Khalid A. bin Sulayem has called for a complete revamp of the department's publicity materials for distribution to visitors and VIPs locally, regionally as well as overseas.

Mr. bin Hareb said that a new look literature with up-to date information was necessary to give visitors and target clients a comprehensive and correct picture of Dubai. "According to the instructions of Mr. bin Sualyem, all the  department's brochures as well as video tapes will under go a complete overhaul. They would incorporate the latest and future developments and contain exhaustive information about the emirate for the users," said Mr. bin Hareb.

He noted that a special importance would be given to the brochures and video dealings with the MICE industry. "Dubai has latest and state-of the art  infrastructure for a MICE traveler. These facilities will be highlighted prominently in our publicity material. Achievements of the emirate in the MICE sector as well as new and up coming developments will find a prominent place in them," stated Mr. bin Hareb.

Speaking about the importance and need for this change, Mr. bin Hareb said: "Brochures and videos tell a great deal about the destination. They have visual appeal and can change viewers' perception. They act as catalyst in generating interest among people about the destination. Therefore, it is important that these publicity materials should carry latest information about the place, which would help users in making a proper assessment and judgment about the place".

The new publicity material will be available from September 2003.
