Thai Airways International marks King's Birthday with Special Menu

Travel News Asia 3 December 2003

To mark His Majesty the King of Thailand's birthday on 5 December 2003, Thai Airways International is offering a special inflight menu on all international flights leaving Bangkok International Airport between 4-6 December 2003.

THAI's President, Mr. Kanok Abhiradee, said that the airline is marking the birthday of His Majesty the King, also designated National Father's Day in Thailand, with a special inflight menu in addition to the normal menu. The choice of special dishes is based on the colour yellow, the colour for Monday - His Majesty's day of birth, and by the use of produce from the Royal Projects.

Dishes include Yum Pla Dook Foo ( Deep Fried Catfish Salad Thai Style ) as the first course in First Class and Business Class, while Economy Class will be served Yum Thua Plu Kung (Thua Plu Salad with Shrimp ). As the main course for every class, THAI will offer Chicken Rolls with Herbs served with Chitralada fragrant jasmine rice mixed with saffron rice, while for dessert a special taro custard will be offered.

The special dishes will be served on all flights leaving Bangkok from 4-6 December 2003, with the aim of promoting food made from Royal Projects produce.
