Royal Phnom Penh Destroyed in Riots

Just days following the ASEAN Tourism Forum where tourism ministers called for peace and unity around the world, the host country Cambodia, who did such an excellent job in promoting its beautiful country to the worlds tourism industry, has suffered from major riots in its capital Phnom Penh.

Last night a days long demonstration by Cambodian students erupted into riots, with Thai nationals but mainly Thai property being the main target of the students anger. The students were reacting to a famous Thai actresses alleged comments about, Cambodia, its people and national monuments.

The Royal Phnom Penh Hotel which was one of the official hotels for the ATF, was completely destroyed, as were many other Thai holdings in Phnom Penh.
