The St. Regis Shanghai Provides Meeting Stories for Clients

Search ASIA Travel Tips .com 2 June 2003

Companies planning their meetings can now let The St. Regis Shanghai put on the thinking hats on their behalf with the catering professionals at the hotel creating different story angles and meeting ideas for companies.

Instead of having themed coffee breaks or theme dinner on its own, the hotel will help devise a story or theme that is fully reflected from the time guests arrive for the meetings through to the execution of the meeting itself, breakouts and the grand finale. These story angles help further emphasize and magnify the objectives of the meetings.

Examples of stories that the hotel has created include The Fireball Dragon Theme, which incorporates the most respected legendary creature in Chinese history and culture, the Dragon, into the meeting. Imagine your CEO arriving in a sedan chair with the dragon as his escort and participants have different brainstorming sessions throughout the meetings about how they can "catch the fireball", in other words, achieving their meetings' objectives.

Companies who would like to hold their meetings or functions at an outside venue can now choose from a selection of Shanghai Mansions. They can relive the heyday of Shanghai in the 1930's in the refurbished Shanghai Mansions in the French Concession areas and at the same time learn about the rich history behind these beautiful architectures as they conduct their meetings in the various rooms of the mansion.

The St. Regis Themed Meetings are available for a minimum of 80 guests and include theme creation, music, meetings set up, staff uniforms, props, food and beverage. Themed meetings are available from now until 31st March 2004.

Each meeting space is dedicated to an individual meeting with no partitions, providing guests with privacy. The hotel also offers exclusive breakout rooms and modern facilities including wireless high-speed internet connections.
