Le Méridien Al Aqah Beach Resort launches 'Midweek Medicine' promotion

Travel News Asia 2 June 2003

Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort Fujairah today launched a new promotion entitled Midweek Medicine. The offer, which begins immediately, is valid till September 15th and promises good value for money to residents of the U.A.E. who plan to stay home for the summer season.

"Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort has been quite successful in promoting Fujairah as a formidable tourist destination and we plan to sustain this momentum as the weather warms up. Our summer package reflects our commitment to providing value added services to tourists and families here in the U.A.E. and we look forward to welcoming foreign visitors and residents alike to our property," said Patrick Antaki, Hotel Manager.

A joint venture between Emirates Airlines and the Hotel and Resort Investment Company, Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort has provided a major thrust to the tourism sector in the East Coast of the UAE, and is located on a two kilometer sand beach, nestled between the Hajar Mountains and the Indian Ocean. Some of the hotel's state of the art  facilities include a Wellness Centre featuring Cleopatra Beauty Rooms, the Baywatch Village restaurant complex, four additional bars and  restaurants and a professional diving centre.

Le Méridien Al Aqah Beach Resort has partnered with Al Boom Marine to operate its dive centre, "We can offer a full itinerary of wreck and night dives, as well as day cruises to the Musandam fjords - with dolphin  watching a bonus - and short trips to nearby islands for snorkelling safaris," added Antaki, a keen dive enthusiast himself. For the equally adventurous who prefer to stay dry there are also a range of mountain, coastal and heritage discovery tours available.

The special room rates for the summer will not only include a room with a breathtaking view of the Indian Ocean, but also buffet breakfast and buffet lunch or dinner at the Views restaurant everyday of your stay. Between Friday and Wednesday, a standard single room at the hotel will be available for AED 250 and a superior single room for AED 300 only. For those travelling with their families, the rates are just as competitive. The  standard double/twin room will be available for AED 300 and the superior double/twin room for only AED 350.

The weekend rates that will be in effect every Thursday during the promotion are extremely reasonable and include the fabulous meal offers as mentioned above. A standard single room is available for AED 450 and  an upgrade to a superior room will cost you only AED 500. A standard double/twin room can be yours for just AED 500 at the weekend. The superior double/twin room will be available for AED 550. Extra beds are also available for only AED 150 each and once again the meal deals are included.

"We have splendid facilities for families here at the Le Meridien Al Aqah. The Penguin club for children was specially designed to ensure a stress free vacation for parents. Children are well taken care off by highly trained professionals and nurses. There is a children's pool where swimming is taught and an air-conditioned play area as well. During the summer, we will  also be allowing children under the age of 6 to eat for free at the Views restaurant. For children between the ages of 6 and 12 there will be a 50 % discount on food and beverages at the restaurant," added Antaki.
