Travel News Asia 26 February 2003

Qatar Airways passengers will be getting the best and latest in aircraft comfort and inflight services when Qatar Airways takes delivery of two more Airbus A330s.

Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Mr Akbar Al Baker announced today that the airline received its third A330 this month and that it would take delivery of the fourth A330-200 in March.

"The arrival of the two A330s will mean that Qatar Airways will be able to extend the very best of inflight services and products to our passengers,"  said Mr Al Baker.

"The A330s represent Qatar Airway's commitment to giving our passengers the best and will be operating on the Paris route.

"The A330s come with flat beds in First Class which recline to 180 degrees with privacy panels for total comfort and relaxation.

"In Business Class we have installed sleeper seats which recline to 160 degrees and come with independent lumbar support and a foot massage bar.

"All passengers on the A330s will be able to watch movies and short programs on their own individual screen.

"In First and Business Class, passengers will be able to choose from 21 video channels. Economy Class passengers will be able to choose from 17  video channels.

"There are personal telephones in First and Business Class and cordless phones in all the classes on the A330s.

"We have also installed PC power outlets in all the First and Business Class seats," said Mr Al Baker.

The additional of the two A330s brings the Qatar Airways fleet to 22.

By the end of 2004, Qatar Airways is expected to have a fleet or more than 35 aircraft, as part of a strategy to give passengers a greater choice of destination, a greater choice of flights, and the latest in aircraft services and  products.
