JW Marriott Phuket Resort and Spa Adds Seaside Golf Pitching and Putting Green

JW Marriott Phuket Resort and Spa is adding a seaside golf pitching and putting green which is slated for opening on September 1, 2003.

The six hole green was designed by renowned Landscape Architect Bill Bensley of Bensley Design Studios, who designed the resort's stunning gardens, in conjunction with Heath Glasby, Golf Course Superintendent at Blue Canyon Country Club, which is just minutes from the resort.

Construction and on-going maintenance of the green will be done under contract by Blue Canyon. Clubs and equipment will be available for hire at the resort, or guests can bring their own as they prefer.

A keen golfer himself, Kevin Beauvais, country manager and resort General Manager is thrilled at the addition of the green which will enable guests to polish up and perfect their techniques before their game. "I will certainly have no excuse for a bad short game anymore!" he commented.
