Dubai Municipality signs up as Senge seminar sponsor

Travel News Asia 24 November 2003

As part of its ongoing commitment to training and learning in the workplace, Dubai Municipality is to sponsor the first UAE seminar of world-renowned business guru Dr Peter Senge.

More than 250 delegates - including at least 30 from Dubai Municipality - are expected to discuss Senge’s methods during the seminar January 19, 2004. These methods have helped global organisations such as the World Bank, Shell, Ford, IBM and NASA to success.

The seminar is organised by the Dubai based learning and training consultancy knowledgenetwork (knet), and Ibrahim Moosa Jamel, head of human resource development at Dubai Municipality attended a pre-event briefing into Senge’s methodology.

Abdulqader al Khaja, CEO of knet, said: “In recent years, organisational learning methods have been used by leading organisations, NGOs and governments working together to promote more sustainable business practices, as well as a growing global network of innovators creating post-industrial models of education.”

According to Khaja, Senge is the authority to speak on the learning organisation, as he has been named as one of the 25 individuals to have had the greatest influence on business strategy over the last 100 years.

Delegates attending the seminar, The Learning Organisation, will get the chance to have open one-on-one dialogue with Senge after the formal proceedings have concluded.

knet is an independent training and management consultancy, and specialises in live speaker seminars and business conferences.
