Sanctuary Resorts ends management agreement of The Layan Phuket

Sanctuary Resorts, the Hong Kong based management company of holistic resorts has ended its management of The Layan in Phuket. The parting, which both parties described as amicable will be effective as of 31 May 2003.

Andrew Jones, founder and guardian of Sanctuary Resorts, stated that "we are confident that the owning family of the resort is capable of improving on the foundations, laid down by Sanctuary Resorts and we wish them much success in the future management of the resort". 

Sanctuary Resorts stated it will continue to focus on the development of new luxury resorts where people can balance body, mind and spirit and will open its two latest resorts, The Racha on Koh Racha and Hotel de la Paix in Siem Reap in December 2003 and June 2004 respectively.

The Bale, a Sanctuary Resort in Bali has just been ranked amongst the top 80 Hot Spots of Best New Resorts in the World by the prestigious Conde Nast magazine.

Additional Sanctuary Resorts are currently planned in Sihanoukville (Cambodia) and Koh Samui (Thailand) while pre-opening work on Shinta Mani, Sanctuary Resorts' non-fee paying vocational training institute for young Cambodian people at risk started last month.
