Thai Airways International Brings Prominent Ear Specialist and Medical Volunteers to Bangladesh

Between 20-22 January 2003, Thai Airways International in cooperation with the Center Point Hospital in Chittagong, the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh, arranged a team of ear specialists, leading physicians and medical volunteers to Chittagong, to provide ear check ups for the people in Chittagong free of charge.

In order to support and promote Chiang Mai as the northern aviation  commercial hub as well as medical center, THAI arranged and brought a team of leading physicians and medical volunteers from government and private hospitals in Bangkok to visit Chittagong and provide general ear check-ups at no cost. Similar activity was also organised to mark the launch of the airlines flight operations between Bangkok and Chittagong via Chiang Mai. THAIs President, Mr. Kanok Abhiradee, said the move was made to introduce medical services which are available in Thailand.

In cooperation with the Center Point Hospital in Chittagong, THAI will bring a team of 11 prominent physicians and ear specialists, led by Doctor Sunthorn Antarasen, to set up a booth between 20-22 January 2003, at Chittagong  Center Point, between 0830-1630 hrs to provide ear check-ups as well as give consultation on health problems related to hearing organs and respiratory tracts. It is expected that the team might accommodate about 500 patients a day.

In addition to Chiang Mais reputation as one of Thailands well-known tourism and cultural attractions, Thai Airways International plans to promote Chiang Mai as a center of international education, and focal point for the import/export trade of both manufactured and agricultural products in order to develop Chiang Mai as the regional hub of air transportation and business.
