Six Senses Spa opens at Ana Mandara Evason Hideaway, Vietnam

Travel News Asia 21 March 2003

Six Senses Spas has opened one of Vietnam’s first international standard spa facilities at the Ana Mandara Evason Hideaway at Nha Trang, Vietnam.

Located alongside the beach in a coconut plantation, the holistic Six Senses Spa sets new standards in spa design, with the use of natural tones and finishes blended with traditional Vietnamese style and subtle water elements. There are two sunken outdoor treatment salas surrounded by  pools, creating a therapeutic environment for the ultimate relaxation.

Inside the spa, there are treatment rooms for couples or singles, with sunken Jacuzzi baths, a Vichy shower and a Japanese-style bath. With separate facilities for men and women, the ‘back to nature’ changing areas are  surrounded by lush vegetation with saunas and steam rooms. Traditional Vietnamese-style salas, positioned over the feature fish pond and surrounded by coconut trees, are used for private consultations and for rest areas.

The Six Senses Spa offers a wide range of treatment techniques from  East and West, including a selection of massages, face and body care, mind and body balancing and beauty care with expert therapists offering a wealth of experience. For the undecided, spa professionals will guide you through the treatment options and ensure that expectations are met and goals are achieved. Spa packages are also available for day visitors.

For those interested in more physical pursuits and fitness régimes, there is a small gymnasium and exercise classes, including yoga sessions that are available for in-house guests and for local membership.

The boutique Ana Mandara Evason Hideway has 16 villas offering a total of 68 rooms, each with its own covered terraces and modern amenities. It is  located on the beach overlooking stunning Nha Trang Bay and is set in 20,000 square metres of private tropical gardens.

The name “ana mandara” in the ancient cham language of Vietnam means “beautiful home for guests” and in that spirit, the resort is reminiscent of an old Vietnamese village, furnished with native wood and rattan.
