AIME 2003 Breaks all Records

Travel News Asia 20 February 2003

AIME 2003, 11th AsiaPacific Incentives and Meetings Expo closed it doors last night having recorded significant increases in total attendance, Hosted Buyer and exhibitor numbers.

“AIME 2003 recorded a 5.8% increase in visitor numbers, an 18% increase in Hosted Buyer numbers and an 8.5% increase in exhibitors,” said David Crooke, AIME Exhibition Director.

A total of 2,606 trade visitors, including 338 Hosted Buyers attended AIME to see 647 exhibitors, predominantly from the Asia Pacific region.

“AIME 2003 has broken all records. The exhibition has grown significantly with more exhibitors covering more space than ever before. In addition, Hosted Buyer numbers from key regions including Australia, USA, Asia and  New Zealand are up on last year’s event,” Mr Crooke said.

“The quality of Hosted Buyers was not only retained but enhanced. By targeting key market segments identified in our research, we have increased the number of incentive, association and corporate buyers.”

According to Mr Crooke, feedback from exhibitors last night as the doors closed on the two-day event, was extremely positive.

“Exhibitors were pleased with the quality of the buyers. They were also pleased to see more association and corporate buyers at the event. But what was most encouraging was the amount of real business that was reportedly being done at AIME,” Mr Crooke said.

AIME 2004 will be held on 24 & 25 February, 2004 at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre.
