Jebel Ali International Hotels expands Spa offerings

Travel News Asia 18 June 2003

Jebel Ali International (JAI) Hotels, which owns and operates the Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa, Palm Tree Court and Oasis Beach Hotel in Dubai, has expanded its world-class spa offerings through an extended partnership with Spa Resources International (SRI).

JAI has added a third treatment room to its five-star Jebel Ali resort and introduced the Oasis Retreat spa facility at its Oasis Beach Hotel. The new facilities, as with the first two treatment rooms at the Jebel Ali resort, have been designed, staffed and are being managed by SRI.

"Spas are now integral to the well-being of a hotel and its guests," said Gerhard Hardick, General Manager, JAI Hotels. "The spa facility introduced into Jebel Ali has been exceptionally well received, hence our decision to expand the facility.

"Our research has shown that our clientele expects a wide menu of healthy lifestyle options. Once we decided on spa facilities we had the choice of  creating and managing our own or have it managed by experts. SRI’s proposal was equal to the world's best, including the Far Eastern Banyan Tree chain and Thailand's legendary Chiva Som."

Dubai-headquartered SRI markets Dubai's leading Cleopatra's Spa brand.

"SRI has been involved with setting up many world-class leisure facilities in the Middle East," said Daniella Russell, Director of Wafi Health & Leisure, of which SRI is a part. "Our aim is to improve and enhance the spa industry standards in the region and bring in the latest technologies and treatments."

"The Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa is the only resort in the Middle East to include a unique colour therapy, ‘Cleopatra's Bath,’ in its well-being offering. Cleopatra's Bath has colours running through the bath treatment, providing the ultimate in relaxation.

"Oasis Retreat, which has two treatment rooms offering Asian therapies, has been designed in a tropical safari theme, in keeping with the hotel's overall décor."

JAI Hotels is the latest addition to SRI’s leisure industry clients. Other world-class hospitality providers in SRI’s growing client portfolio include: Kempinski Hotels & Resorts, Jumeirah International and Le Meridien Hotels & Resorts.
