Yeoh Siew Hoon Joins DOME Board

Travel News Asia 17 January 2003

Editorial Director of Reed Travel & Meetings Group (RTMG), Yeoh Siew Hoon,  has been appointed to the board of directors of DOME. DOME Chairman, Gary Grimmer, said that her background and enthusiasm made her an ideal candidate for the position.

"Having worked in Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong, Siew Hoon will bring an Asian perspective to DOME research and activities. Her experience in publishing, and in developing and launching new projects will benefit us enormously as we seek ways to extend DOME’s benefit to the industry.”

In her current role with RTMG, part of Reed Elsevier PLC, Siew Hoon is responsible for the direction of EVENTS, a bimonthly publication positioned as a how-to resource for event planners and managers. She also launched other meetings industry publications - Incentive & Meetings Asia and M&C Asia/Pacific.

Yeoh says that gaining broad industry understanding and support is one of DOME’s most important challenges.

"When I first heard of DOME, I thought it had to do with either a futuristic attraction or a hip coffee place. It turned out to be one of the most needed and relevant industry initiatives happening today. DOME will bring meaningful research and data to an industry that has long suffered for lack of adequate measurement processes.”

“DOME is devising systems that will help the industry become more measurable and accountable. That will bring commercial benefits and also help it to be taken more seriously by governments and key players.

"I am honoured to be part of the board and look forward to doing my bit for the convention and meetings industry."
