DSF and DSS use Arabian Travel Market to increase business

Travel News Asia 1 May 2003

The office of Dubai Shopping Festival and Dubai Summer Surprises will  participate in a big way in the Arabian Travel Market 2003, which starts on May 6th, 2003, as part of the Dubai stand, in a major promotional blitz to increase bookings for Dubai Summer Surprises 2003 and Dubai Shopping Festival 2004.

Saeed Mohammed Al Nabouda, Chief Executive Officer, DSS and DSF said, "The Arabian Travel Market is the showcase event for the travel sector, during which the best offers are presented and the maximum deals are  struck. Not only are we aiming to present our tourism products which have achieved a great deal of success in the past, we also want to highlight the pioneering role of Dubai in the travel industry. While Dubai Summer Surprises epitomizes the exceptional transformation of a lean season, Dubai Shopping Festival is a brilliant retail concept that has been meticulously developed into an entertainment and shopping tourism extravaganza.

"After our participation in the World Travel Market in London, our participation in the Arabian Travel Market 2003 is an affirmation of our dynamic role in the travel industry. The ATM is the ideal platform for all of us  -industry players, government departments and the private sector players to showcase our individual offer to the travel industry. Through our participation, we would like to the ATM visitor an opportunity to have a one-on-one interaction with our team who will give them a comprehensive overview of both the events."

Besides the distribution of customised literature on both the events, the DSS and DSF stalls will run film montages on the main constituents of the events.  The famous DSS mascot, Modhesh, will visit individual stalls to help promote the event to participants as well as the visitors to the event.

Dubai Summer Surprises 2003, being organized for the sixth year has five new Themed Weeks amongst the 10 themed surprises. DSS 2003 will start  with the Flower Surprises on June 19th 2003, followed by Cartoon Surprises, Colors Surprises, Sweet Surprises, Knowledge Surprises, Ice Surprises, Arts Surprises, Heritage Surprises, Adventure Surprises, and will end with Back-to-School Surprises on August 29th, 2003.

Dubai Shopping Festival 2004, a celebration unlike any other in the world, will be held from January 15, 2004 to February 15, 2004.
