Peter Kaelli new General Manager Santiburi Dusit Resort Koh Samui

Mr Peter Kaelli has been appointed General Manager of the luxury hotel, the Santiburi Dusit Resort on the idyllic island of Koh Samui in Southern Thailand.

Peter Kaelli, has worked for Le Meridien Hotels and Resorts for the past 12 years, and was General Manager of Le Meridien Budapest immediately prior to his current post. Previously, he was Area General Manager Indian Ocean for Le Meridien Hotels and Resorts and GM of Le Meridien Fisherman's Cove, Mahe, Seychelles from 1999-2001, and GM of Le Royal Meridien Baan Taling Ngam in Koh Samui from 1997-1999.

He has worked in the course of his hotel career in many countries, including his native Switzerland, France, Saudi Arabia, Gambia (West Africa), Canada, Hungary and Thailand. During his association with Le Meridien Hotels he was involved in the development of potential new properties in Romania, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine and Hungary.

Mr. Kaelli is a graduate of the Hotel Management School, Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne, Switzerland. He is fluent in several languages, English, French, German and can converse in Thai and Italian, and has basic knowledge of Spanish and Hungarian.

The Santiburi Dusit Resort recently resumed accommodating guests following temporarily closing its premises in order to make major guest service enhancements.

During this brief closing period, the hotel conducted intensive English Skills training provided by Toefel Certified, and Thai Ministry of Education approved Instructors, as well as ongoing interdepartmental skills improvement training workshops.

Other enhancements to the resort was the renovation of the hotel's sparkling new pool deck surrounding one of the largest hotel pools in Thailand, as well as a new Pool Bar, Jacuzzi and Children's pool. There will also be six newly renovated Plunge Pool Villas, each with their own private plunge pools. A new meeting room is also being added.

Most outstanding of the new embellishments is the scheduled opening at the end of this year of Santiburi Golf Course, just a 15- minute drive from the Resort. This is the first world-class golf course on Koh Samui, and will be a spectacular addition to this exotic destination.
