Mr. Ricardo Acevedo
has joined The Regent Singapore as the newly appointed General Manager.
A veteran hotelier for over 25 years, Mr. Acevedo brings with him a wealth of
experience from Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts which he joined in 1997,
and the Hilton International chain, where he started in 1978.

Prior to his current post, Mr. Acevedo held the position of General Manager
of the Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, Mexico. He coordinated the pre-opening process of the Resort and Golf Club, which resulted in the
successful opening in September 1999. Additionally, Mr. Acevedo contributed to the development of the Four Seasons Residence Club and
Four Seasons Private Villas components.
With Mr. Acevedo at the helm, the Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita achieved
many international accolades, including: the AAA Five Diamond Award within two years after the resort's opening and again in 2003 - the only resort
to receive this award in the Mexican Pacific Riviera; the Conde Naste Traveler's choice as one of "The World's Best Places to Stay in the January
2003 issue and in the 2003 Gold List; and the Robb Report that chose the
Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita as "Best of the Best Resorts" in June 2002.
A Hotel Management graduate from the Escuela de Turismo, Madrid, Mr.
Acevedo started his career with Hilton International at the Bogota Hilton in
1978 as Sales Executive, and worked his way up to Area Director of Marketing. In 1986, he moved into Operations as Executive Assistant
Manager in charge of Rooms Division and Marketing at the Cartagena Hilton
Resort in Colombia. He was then transferred to Sao Paulo, Brazil as Hotel
Manager, and was further promoted to General Manager in 1990, and posted
to the property in Belo Horizonte, the third largest city in Brazil. In 1992, Mr.
Acevedo returned to the Hilton Cartagena as General Manager, a property that was elected by the National Travel Agents Association as the best hotel
in the country in 1994.
Mr. Ricardo Acevedo is married to Dania, a Brazilian citizen and they have a
12-year old son, Ricky Jr. |
