Continental Airlines
today announced that it has implemented interline electronic ticketing with US Airways, allowing customers to use a single
electronic ticket when their itineraries include travel on both carriers.
US Airways joins the growing list of successful interline electronic ticketing
agreements Continental has with American, Northwest, United, America West
and Aloha.
Customers benefit from interline electronic ticketing as it eliminates the need
to obtain a paper ticket when transferring from one airline to another. Interline
electronic ticketing bridges the two different airline computer reservation
systems, allowing access to electronically stored itineraries.
"Our customers overwhelmingly prefer the convenience of eTickets," said
Janet Wejman, Continental's senior vice president and chief information officer. "We want to make it easier for everyone to use eTickets throughout the
Continental system, in conjunction with US Airways and with other carriers." |
