Travel News Asia 12 June 2003

China Airlines has won the 4th place, on top of most of the world class airlines, for its outstanding cabin staff service out of a survey result announced by Skytrax Research.

This is a 4 rank improvement from 8th place in the previous year, and is the second consecutive year that China Airlines has featured in the top 10 list.

In addition to China Airlines, the other nine carriers in the top 10 list are Malaysia Airlines, SriLankan Airlines, Asiana Airlines, Qatar Airways, Thai Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways, All Nippon Airways, Singapore Airlines  and Emirates.

Skytrax, a leading aviation research specialist based in London U.K., polled a total of 1,822,503 votes during its six-month survey around the world which ended last month. According to Skytrax, the nominations for Best Cabin Staff are based on the cabin staff qualities including Staff Efficiency, Staff Cabin Presence, Service Attentiveness, Staff Friendliness,  Consistency among Staff and Attitude & Sincerity of Staff.

Beginning in 1997, China Airlines introduced its "Excellent Service Program to improve inflight service quality. The motto 'We treasure every moment' was cultivated into the inflight training. After intensive training to become qualified cabin crew from trainees, China Airlines flight  attendants still receive recurrent training to catch up with new service concepts every year.
