Hertz Australia offers special one-way Car Rental Deals from Southern States to Queensland

Travel News Asia 11 December 2003

Hertz Australia is offering super one-way deals from Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra to Southern Queensland in the lead up to Christmas, with family size cars available from just A$39.50 per day.

With strong holiday demand for rental cars in Brisbane, and on the Gold and Sunshine Coasts, Hertz needs to move Toyota Camry and Ford Falcon sedans north before Christmas.

So until 20 December, the company is offering Toyota Camry sedans, or similar, for just A$39.50 per day for 7-14 day rentals, and A$43.00 a day for 1-6 day rentals.

And for those needing a larger car, Ford Falcon sedans, or similar, can be hired for just A$44.50 per day for 7-14 day rentals, and A$49 per day for 1-6 days.

“This is the peak holiday period for Queensland, and demand for rental cars is strong,” said Hertz Australia Region Vice President and Managing Director Mr. James Bowyer.

“We need to move cars from Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra to South East Queensland, and the best way to do so is to offer very competitive rental rates in the lead up to Christmas,” said Mr Bowyer. “In addition to low rental rates, we have also removed the drop-off fee which usually applies to one-way rentals.”

Mr Bowyer said the low rental rates would appeal to backpackers who were travelling around Australia, or to those planning last minute holidays, who had missed low airfare deals to Queensland before Christmas.

“For those travelling in one direction, this is an affordable and convenient way to get to Queensland,” said Mr Bowyer. “And for last minutes travellers, our special one-way rates provide a very inexpensive way to travel to Queensland before Christmas.

The Hertz one-way deals apply to vehicles collected before 20 December from Hertz depots in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra, for a maximum rental period of 14 days. At the end of the rental period vehicles must be delivered to Hertz depots in Brisbane, or on the Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast. Vehicles are limited at these prices.
